About the Breed

The Australian Shepherd (or "Aussie") is a bundle of boundless love, intelligence, and energy. These dogs will quickly capture your heart with their beauty and loyalty, but it is important to know right from the start: they are not couch potatoes. They are active, thinking working dogs that need daily physical and mental exercise. If you are ready for an active lifestyle, this dog will become the greatest adventure of your life.

What do they look like?

They are medium-sized, athletic, and incredibly elegant dogs. The breed stands out for its uniquely beautiful coat, with four recognized colors: black, red, blue merle, and red merle. Their tails can be naturally short (bobtail) or long and beautifully plumed. Every Aussie is completely unique, like a painting crafted by nature itself.

Character and Temperament

Aussies become deeply attached to their humans – they simply want to be wherever you are. They might be a little more reserved around strangers, but they are never aggressive or timid. Because they are such a highly intelligent breed, these dogs are quite capable of solving problems on their own. They are an absolute joy to train and genuinely love learning new commands and tricks.

Focus on Health

We care deeply that our puppies grow up strong and bring joy to your family for 12 to 15 years. That is why we only breed health-tested dogs: we perform all mandatory screenings for hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as tests for hereditary eye diseases and the MDR1 gene mutation (medication sensitivity).

A Brief History

Although their name suggests otherwise, the modern Australian Shepherd was actually developed on the ranches of the American West. Their ancestors, who traveled from the mountains of Europe by way of Australia, helped American cowboys herd livestock. Today, that same tireless little herder makes a wonderful family friend, a deeply loyal companion, and a loving guardian of your home.
